In drumetie
O zona superba, care suprima toti “piticii” capatati in Bucuresti :)).
Asa ca succes mie, capul sus nasico, si mult curaj fetelor !

Wien - Schonbrunn and the perfect alleys in late winter
…
On Saturday we had planned to visit Schonbrunn Castle, maybe not the most beautiful but certainly the most famous - we had previously bought the tickets online for Saturday at 10 o’clock. We got up pretty early, had a quick breakfast and we were on our way, because it was quite far from where we were staying. What we didn’t expect was to get there in 15 minutes. We were an hour early, so we decided to get off the subway at the Hietzing station, and not Schonbrunn station - this way we entered the Schlosspark and could enjoy a nice walk on the straight alleys of the Schonbrunn’s gardens before getting to the castle. At the entrance, we bought some maronis from a nice man, happy that we found something that familiar to us. As we expected, their maronis were sweeter and way better cooked that in our Maramures.
We were a little overwhelmed by the number of alleys and the fact that - even though in late winter - the park was Read more…
Wien - Stephansdom and the will of the narrow streets
…
After having our lunch at Chadim’s we began our tour, and the first stop was Stephansdom (St Stephan’s Cathedral). As the subway escalators went up for Stephanplatz, we could see the Dom shaping before us, and we were instantly intimidated by the grandeur, the details and history charge of the cathedral. We took a few minutes to look around and admire the outside of the building, its towers and walls, carved with thoroughly thought details. At that time our breaths were stolen, and we weren’t able to take any pictures.
We went inside and we felt like going back in time. We looked around for a minute and then set down on the wooden benches surrounded by a still silence, even though the cathedral was packed with tourists. Read more…
Wien - orientation
So, we’re back home, after a sweet gettaway to Wien. It was a more than welcomed trip and we really needed to run from our lifes for a few days.
But why don’t I begin the story…
We didn’t really prepare for departure - because of some unexpected and unpleasant events that kept our minds - so the first day was a wreck. We forgot to previously exchange money, which affected the start of our trip and lost us a few extra hours of Wien, and all I can say is thank God we have an international credit card. But this wasn’t our only ‘bad luck’ - maybe it was due to the date: Friday 13th.
As I was at check-in, getting ready to submit my luggage and get our tickets for the Bucharest - Wien flight, I suddenly remembered that our reservations were made on my old maiden name. I remembered telling my friend from the travell agency that if I were to change my name before the trip, I would use my old passport and settle everything like that. But it totally slipped my mind… And of course we didn’t have our wedding certificate with us, who the hell carries that around. Well, at least we don’t… and this was a real issue. The girls at the ticketing office were kind enough to help us, and changed my name on the Bucharest - Wien ticket, so that we could catch the plane, but they couldn’t help us with the ticket for our return, while my anxiety was growing.
With the return ticket issue pending, we got on the plane and took off to Wien. I got a window seat,- like aleays - so I admired the clouds from above, content that we we weren’t seated on the wings. I don’t know what happened, but once we got very close to the Wien airport, we flew in circles for over 30 minutes, and while this was bothering me, because I did not know what was going on, I must admit we had quite a view.
